Vintage & Special Buckles
These buckles are highly collectible and increase in value over time either because of their age or who made them.
Few, if any, cowboy buckles existed before 1900. Most cowboys used suspenders or had buckles that were derived from military friction buckles. What we think of today as cowboy buckles really started in the 1920s as a direct result of western movies. If you ever see a pre-1940 buckle, let me know, I'd love to list them in this store!
From the first half of the 20th century there are well known names like Don Ellis, Michael Srour, Al Pecetti, William Nelson, John McCabe, Les Garica, Edward H. Bohlin, Robert Schaezlein.
